Dr. Lisa M. Steiner, Ph.D., LPC, LMHC, MBA, Director
lms-nyackDr. Lisa Steiner, Ph.D. is passionate about helping adults, children, and couples have joyful and fulfilled lives. She has completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Regent University and has graduated from Nyack College's Alliance Graduate School of Counseling with a MA in Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey (License #37PC00373500) a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York (License #004760), the Director of Wellsprings Counseling Center, a Certified Empowerment Coach, and the Director of Wellsprings Coaching Services, LLC. She has written several peer-reviewed articles that have been published in APA Journals including “Spiritual factors predict state and trait anxiety” - Journal of Religion and Health (2016); “Effect of Infidelity, Initiator Status, and Spiritual Well-Being on Men’s Divorce Adjustment” – Journal of Divorce and Remarriage (2015); and “Effect of Age, Initiator Status, and Infidelity on Women’s Divorce Adjustment” – Journal of Divorce and Remarriage (2011). Additionally, Dr. Steiner is the Director of the Online Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Nyack College/Alliance Theological Seminary, and she has taught students pursuing their Masters in Mental Health Counseling for 8 years. She also has an MBA and over twenty years of corporate experience.  
 
Armando Palazzo, MA, LPC, LMHC
armandoArmando Palazzo has an MA in Counseling and is a Board Eligible National Certified Counselor.  He holds his licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey (License # 37PC00374300) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York (License # 004479).  He has a BA in psychology with a minor in Pastoral Ministry.  He has many years of experience in both youth and young adults' ministry.  In his practice of psychotherapy he provides individual, couples and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, including marital work. He specializes in the facilitation of interpersonal and social skills, communication skills, the treatment of various disorders, and provides play therapy to children as young as two years old.  In his work with children he inducts parents/care takers into the therapeutic process through training of parenting skills and therapeutic interventions.  He believes that the recipe for a healthy society is a thriving and healthy family system.
 
Kim Savino, MSW, LCSW, LCADC

kimsbiopicKim Savino has over 19 years of counseling experience working with children/adolescence, adults, and families. She has been working at Wellsprings for 12 years as a therapist as well as a Clinical Supervisor.  In addition to working at Wellsprings, Kim previously managed a county wide mobile crisis unit as well as several programs funded by DCP&P (formally DYFS).  In an effort to help trauma victims and those feeling "stuck," Kim has recently begun to practice Sandtray Play Therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.  Kim also serves as an in home provider for the NJ Division of Child Behavioral Health Services.  Her passion is helping people to  become what they were created to be and do what they were created to do.  Her treatment experience includes but is not limited to Addictions, Codependency, Mood Disorders, relational conflicts, and working with oppositional adolescents. She has a Masters in Social Work from New York University; she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (License #44SC05055100) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (License #37L C00078500).  In addition, Kim is currently pursuing a certificate in Sandtray Therapy.

 
J. Ted Barnett, MA, LPC, LMHC
tedJ. Ted Barnett is a Master's level Counselor who completed his coursework in Counseling at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling (AGSC). He currently is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey (License # 37PC00461700) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York (License # 004926). He works with both couples and adult individuals and specializes in marital communication and enrichment, Christian Ministry burnout, personal and relational boundary work, and building emotionally healthy spirituality. He has worked in a variety of context from missionary member care to college residence life. When not counseling Ted and his wife enjoy journeying with their children as they discover the world around them.

Joanne has a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in Nyack, NY. Joanne also holds the designations of Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor from the National Board of Certified Counselors. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in NJ (License # 37PC00463800), a Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor in NJ (License #37LC00206000), as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY (License # 005069). Having been a part of the organization for five years, Joanne works with and welcomes Adults, Adolescents, Couples, Individuals and Groups. Areas of focus include but are not limited to: Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Grief and Loss, Relationships, Life Transitions, Women’s Issues, Self Esteem, Domestic Violence, Addictions, Divorce Recovery and Compulsive Overeating. 

 
Bruce Pajot, MA, LPC, LMHC, M.Div

bruceBruce Pajot serves as a licensed counselor in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. He believes that growth in knowledge, self-awareness, and love can lead to emotional healing as well as to both greater personal and relational happiness. He works with a wide variety of individual issues using an eclectic mix of counseling orientations.  He also works extensively with marriage and family issues.  Bruce typically leads two couples workshops per week and leads periodic communication seminars throughout the country.  He has several certifications in counseling methodologies dealing with relationship issues. He has worked with more than 1,000 individuals and couples. Bruce has worked in both the hospital setting and the counseling office, and he has served in ministry for many years, including nine years as pastor and Christian educator. Bruce has a wide range of education and experience which aids him in relating to people of various backgrounds. He has a broad education having attended 13 colleges and universities in five states. He has spent more than 20 years in the corporate settings in fields as diverse as nuclear engineering, real estate, and insurance. Holding a Master of Divinity from Princeton and an MA in Counseling from Nyack College, Bruce is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey (License # 37PC00432000) and Connecticut as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York.

 

 
Esther Doh, MA, LPC

eshEsther Doh has completed her Masters in Counseling at Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She attained her BA in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology at Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ. She is licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (License #37PC00482600). She has clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, families, and adults on such issues as ADHD, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, identity issues, history of abuse, self-injurious behaviors and relational issues. She has a desire for people to be physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy.

 
Erin Bennington, MSW, LCSW

Erin Bennington completed her Master's degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey (Lic. 44SC05653900). She received her BA in Psychology from Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois. Erin has a desire for people to experience healing, restoration, and transformation. She has experience working individuals, adolescents, women's issues and relational issues. Erin also works with hospice and has extensive experience with grief and loss.  She also works with adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, social media, bullying, and other school concerns.  Prior to working at Wellsprings, Erin worked in ministry with women and men experiencing parenting, relational, pregnancy, and sexual health concerns. 
 
 
 
Indira Acosta, MA, LPC

Indira Acosta has completed her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nyack College's Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She attained her BA in Psychology in the country of Colombia. She is licensed in the State of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (License #37PC00503700). Indira has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in issues related with trauma, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, identity issues, abuse, domestic violence, relational issues, and spiritual conflicts. She is passionate about helping others find balance and restoration in their lives. Indira is bilingual (English and Spanish), and she desires to assist the Latino community gain access to mental health services. Additionally, Indira has missions experience, and she understands the difficulties missionaries experience when transitioning and adjusting to daily life. 

 
 
Verena Schnurr, MA, LPC, LMHC

verena1Verena Schnurr has her Masters in Counseling from Nyack College's Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in New York, NY. She also has a BA in Sociology from Hunter College in New York, NY. She is licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counseling and in the state of New York as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (License #007135), Verena is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (#336487). She has gained clinical experience working with children, families, couples, adolescents, and adults dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, relational concerns, ADHD, adjustment disorders, grief, trauma, sexual abuse, assimilation, acculturation, and issues with boundaries. Verena combines a psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approach to treat these issues along with incorporating principles of the faith for clients who desire such an approach. Verena believes that combining clinical and spiritual skills in treatment can assist clients in becoming mentally and emotionally healthy. Verena is tri-lingual and has assisted people of a Latin background speaking Portuguese and Spanish.
 
Ann Lee, MA, LAC

Ann Lee completed her Masters degree in Counseling at the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of New Jersey (License #37AC00095100) and is supervised by Joanne McCarthy, MA, LPC (License #37PC00463800). She also holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in corporate finance for several years before making a career change to counseling. She is passionate about helping restore people from a place of brokenness to a place of healing. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, marital/relationship difficulties, women's issues, adolescents, career concerns, and overall lifestyle adjustments. Ann has a heart for the Asian-American community, having grown up in this sub-culture herself. However, her clinical experience has included people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

 
John Milius, MA, LAC

Prior to this, John has worked in multiple areas of communications within the entertainment business and Christian ministries. John’s incredible passion for building relationships with others has since led him into the counseling field. His desire is to assist others by providing a safe and supportive environment for adolescents, adults and couples to explore, understand and overcome their personal obstacles in the pursuit of achieving a more balanced and happier life. His clinical experience currently includes, but is not limited to, counseling individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds with depression, anxiety, identity and relational issues, spiritual conflict, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, and addictions.

She is passionate about providing the empathic, supportive environment in which adolescents and adults can identify and accomplish therapeutic goals in order to experience more joyful, wholehearted, and fulfilled lives. Her clinical experience currently includes, but is not limited to, counseling individuals with depression, anxiety, women's issues, life transitions, grief, trauma, domestic violence, and substance use concerns. Stephanie also has her Bachelors in Biology and English, with additional concentrations in Music and Chemistry. In her prior professional endeavors, she served as a human resources manager, clinical study coordinator, and an office manager.

 
Arquisha Moreno, MA, LAC

Arquisha (or Quay, as she is warmly known) has made a lifelong career of successfully supporting and helping teens and adults in their time of need.  Quay holds a bachelors degree from Johnson & Wales University and earned her Masters Degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University.  She is currently a Licensed Associate Counselor (License 37AC00312200) in the State of NJ, and she is being supervised at Wellsprings by Joanne McCarthy, MA, LPC (License 37PC00463800).  Quay’s experiences include working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, substance abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorders, grief & loss, career identity, and spiritual issues. She approaches counseling with a warm and collaborative perspective to help her clients regain their mental and spiritual health.  When Quay is not counseling, she loves traveling and sightseeing with her husband and daughter.   

 

 
Gracie Jerschina, MA, LAC

Gracie Jerschina holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She completed her BA in Sociology and Business Administration at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. She is licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Associate Counselor (License # 37AC00337100) and is supervised by Joanne McCarthy, MA, LPC (License # #37PC00463800). Gracie has clinical experience  with issues relating to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, communication and social skills, life transitions and adjustments, trauma, ministry burnout/conflicts, and relational issues. In addition to working at Wellsprings, she is active in inner-city ministry and urban community development in under-resourced neighborhoods. Gracie uses a warm and empathetic approach when helping others pursue personal growth, self-empowerment, and healthy thriving relationships.

Rachel Snyder, MA, MHC

Rachel has a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She also received a BA in Intercultural studies from Nyack College. Rachel currently has her permit (#P06072) as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York, and she is supervised by Joanne McCarthy MA, LMHC (License # 005069). Rachel enjoys providing a safe place for people who can handle the honesty needed for personal growth and wellness in the counseling relationship. She believes addressing emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual needs are all important components of the healing that can come through the therapeutic process. Rachel desires to work hand in hand with her clients to reach their personal goals. Her experience consists of counseling and leading individuals and groups through anxieties, depression, family matters, emotional healing, addictions, spiritual healing, and personal spiritual formation. She also has lived cross culturally doing humanitarian and ministry work. Rachel is passionate about creatively helping people embrace their personal healing journey and exploring their story in that process. Her areas of focus include, but are not limited to, counseling for: emotional healing, spiritual healing, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family matters, transitions, and self-worth.
