Dr. Vande Vrede has been practicing in the field of psychology and counseling for over 10 years. She is currently a Licensed Psychologist (NJ#6000) in the State of NJ with a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Long Island University. Earlier in her career,  she practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor after having completed her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling along with the necessary post-graduate clinical hours to earn such a credential.  Prior to that, Dr. Vande Vrede earned a double bachelor’s degree in Music and Psychology.

Dr. Vande Vrede has worked with a wide breadth and depth of clientele including adults, families, adolescents, children, and even infants. Throughout her clinical practice, her continued focus has been on best-practices in treatment, attitudes, and motivations of her clients.  Having recently worked at Seton Hall Law School as their in-house psychologist for two years, Dr. Vande Vrede deeply enjoys working with the emerging adult population.  However, she has years of experience working with all age groups throughout their various stages of life.  Furthermore, she has vast clinical expertise with children and adolescents, including six years of experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, and she completed a one year residency in Infant and Toddler mental health with a focus on Perinatal Mental Health and Dyadic therapy (treatment that engages both mother and infant and is effective in improving the attachments).  Dr. Vande Vrede has a certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, and she serves as a consultant to Alternative to Domestic Violence, a County rehabilitation program in Hackensack. A native to Bergen County, she is familiar with the unique cultural and social demands of the area. Lastly, Dr. Vande Vrede is a deacon at her local congregation, and she often plays piano for services. Her doctoral dissertation research focused on the treatment-seeking attitudes of religious populations.
