Julianne (Julie) Morello

MSW, LCSW (NJ)

Julianne (Julie) Morello is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (License #44SC06187500) in the State of New Jersey. As a graduate of Rutgers University, she earned her Masters in Social Work in 2019, and a as graduate of the University of Delaware, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Clinical Human Services in 2017. She has spent her career working in community mental health in an adolescent after school partial care program, where she has professionally grown from a clinician into the Clinical Director, and now holds the role of Program Director.

Her passion as a therapist is helping teens and young adults develop connection with their authentic selves by breaking the chains of their past, the expectations of others, and their own self-doubt. For her minor clients, Julie enjoys also working with their parents to help further strengthen the parent-child relationship. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Sand Play Therapy, and she uses cognitive behavioral, person-centered, acceptance and commitment, attachment, and narrative interventions in her client sessions. Julie also believes that the relationship between a client and their therapist is the main tool used in the healing journey, and therefore she uses relational and some psychodynamic principles at the core of her work.

In her personal life, Julie loves treating her golden retriever Harley (who is also a certified therapy dog) like her son and taking him to every dog-friendly place possible, with her husband. She is an avid Jersey girl and, living only 15 minutes from the beach, she spends any sunny day she can there. She is likely drinking a Starbucks shaken espresso with seasonal-flavored cold foam and listening to Elevation Worship or Brandon Lake.

“The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.” – Anna Quindlen
