Shelby Tortorello holds a BS in Psychology from Liberty University and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor (#37AC00631700) in New Jersey, and a Mental Health Counselor – Limited Permit (#113033-01) in New York. She is working under the supervision of Stephanie Lawrence, Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey (#37PC00623400) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York (#007696).

Shelby has garnered experience in both private agency and hospital settings, facilitating both individual and group counseling sessions. She also worked under the supervision of a Monmouth University professor to actively participate in research, and has presented at conferences on applying Shame Resilience Theory to clinical practice. Shelby is passionate about working therapeutically with children and supporting parents with their own mental health. She strives to meet each client exactly where they are, and work with them to come up with a unique treatment plan that will best support them as they make progress to achieve their individual goals. Shelby also works as a high school psychology teacher at Hawthorne Christian Academy.
