Timothy Pai

MA Intern (NJ, NY)

Timothy is a Masters in Counseling Intern at Wellsprings Counseling Center and a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. He is under the supervision of Joanne McCarthy, MA, LPC (License # 37PC00463800), LMHC (License # 005069). Timothy approaches counseling with empathy, humility, and a commitment to honoring each person’s story, with a desire to help facilitate deep and lasting change. He provides a unique blend of personal, professional, and spiritual experience that equips him to support clients facing relational strain, life transitions, anxiety, depression, career challenges, spiritual struggles, and marriage or parenting concerns.

Holding a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Timothy spent over two decades in the corporate world before making a purposeful transition into counseling. This shift was fueled by a deep desire to support adults, couples, adolescents, and families navigating seasons of pain, growth, and change. Furthermore, as a husband and father of three, Timothy brings a grounded, mature presence and a lived understanding of life’s complexities. His experience serving as an elder during a challenging leadership transition in his former church also shaped his passion for walking alongside individuals healing from religious hurt and navigating faith-related identity shifts.
