Verena Schnurr

Verena Schnurr has her Masters in Counseling from Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling in New York, NY. She also has a BA in Sociology from Hunter College in New York, NY. She is licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (License #37PC00597400) and in the state of New York as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (License #007135). Verena is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (#336487). She has gained clinical experience working with children, families, couples, adolescents, and adults dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, relational concerns, grief, trauma, sexual abuse, assimilation, acculturation, and issues with boundaries. Verena combines a psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approach to treat these issues along with incorporating principles of the faith for clients who desire such an approach. Verena believes that combining clinical and spiritual skills in treatment can assist clients in becoming mentally and emotionally healthy. Verena is tri-lingual and has assisted people of a Latin background speaking Portuguese and Spanish.
